Ghost Governance

Can there be perfect education…..

Can there be a perfect system….

Can perfect equilibrium be maintained in an economy….

Can the imperfections of society be removed completely…..

None of the above is possible, then how can we have a perfect democracy…. The very basic fundamentals on which the democracy stands is educated, systematic society with economic intellect and perfect social conditions… if any of the said ingredients is missing, democracy as a governing body would not exist in its true sense, neither the fruits of democracy be pleasurable for the masses….

Switzerland, a perfectly peaceful example of democracy which is directly controlled by the mass. The basic rule is public controls the Governing body which in return controls the public…. Hence both have a relationship and a win-win control situation….

Even if we do not have perfection in education, social security and systematic governance, how can we dream of mutually beneficial controls…. How could a political system infected with dirty politics and selfish means fetch the public and do justice with them and in return the exploited masses would slake their hunger first, instead of sacrificing the self interest for the sake of democratic establishment….. contradictions would prevail, jeopardizing the whole system.

BUT yeah, my great nation, India, a big 105 crore nation is an exception to all this.. it is surviving all the imperfections, all the threats, terrorism, inflations, economic pressures and is still progressing and managing to Govern the public democratically (so called democratically) and in a better way than many of its neighbours…. Seeing the disequillibriums and frictional factions of sub systems that exist in our governing bodies, its nothing less than a miracle that democracy still survives in the nation….. though in a battered state…. BUT ISN”T it better than many ……

And if democracy dies, would facism, communism , monarchy be better for our system…..  I do think that the present system is killing the spirit of democratic form of governance, and the present form needs a complete make over, but I would never like monarchy or communism to take over democratic systems…. Is it possible to run a nation like us with such a great mass, with non-democratic systems. AND THIS one argument makes me believe that democracy is still alive, though it is bruised and is constantly being gang raped by us as well as the governing bodies…. And each subsequent election gives birth to a worse form of baby to govern us.

Democracy can only be strengthened with an enlightened public…. Can we have enlightened public who elects with clear conscience….. does a public conscience exist…. Do we live by our morals….. aren’t we prone to bias on basis of caste colour and creed… and still we talk of true democracy…..

And again the dilemma, if not democracy than what…… the answer is still democracy…. Even in the worst forms democracy is favored in place of any other form of Government !!!!

THE best thing that churns our is: Democracy is dead, still it drives our nation….. we are driven by a Ghost …..hai na!!!!
